Database Server applications
provide a crucial role to many companies, educational facilities, laboratories
and government agencies. It can be a daunting task to configure applications
and even more so, to configure middle ware. Applications such as PostgreSQL,
MySQL and, Oracle® can do a great job as database engines
and are part of the overall software application side of it.
In most instances a lot of time is put into customization
of database structure and into middle ware. It's a big investment to
make it all work and work right.
Just as one or a team has to put the time into making
the applications work, we take the time in building back-end Servers
used to host the applications to work virtually flawlessly. The same
attitude is put forth when it comes to low-cost front-end Servers.
It's one thing to have on-site warranty support to replace
a Server Board, it's another thing to have the Server working for the
next 5 years. Reliability is the keyword. As is the case with creating
the database applications, the same applies to the construction and
testing of the hardware that your applications will run on.
Anything
less than a completely reliable and very fast Server is just a
waste of your resources!
The type, configuration and, quantity of servers needed
for excellent performance is dependent on many factors. There is no
magic formula or pre-configured server that is a 'one size fits all'
