We strongly believe in redundancy. Our configuration
tips imply this.
Server should have Hot-Pluggable Drives
(SAS or SATA), and should be capable of auto-rebuilding the
RAID Array(s) with Online Hot-Spare Drive(s).
The ProServ Servers below all do this.
For a Single Processor Server, a Quad-Core Processor
and 2GB E.C.C. Memory
Dual Processor Server with 4GB or more E.C.C. FBB Memory.
Server with hot-pluggable back plane and hot-pluggable
drive bays and redundant hot-pluggable power supplies.
At very minimum, a RAID-1 (2-drive mirror) array.
RAID-50 (stripe of two RAID-5 array sets, 6 drives
minimum) if using database
RAID-60 (You can loose up to 2 hard drive simultaneously
without loosing entire RAID set)
